Two official Grand Theft Auto VI trailers exist, and both are above. - Setting: Vice City, within the wider state of Leonida. Rockstar's modern take on Miami and Florida. Confirmed
- Protagonists: Lucia and Jason. GTA 6 is the first mainline Grand Theft Auto with a playable female lead. Confirmed
Everything beyond that list, a third trailer date, a price, a map size in square miles, a "six-star wanted level", leaked walkthroughs, is not confirmed. Where it is worth covering, we cover it, clearly labelled as rumour.
Trailer 1, the reveal (4 December 2023)
The first official trailer broke records on arrival and reset expectations for what an open world looks like. It opens on Leonida at dawn and moves through Vice City's beaches, strip and back roads, introducing Lucia and a sun-bleached, social-media-soaked version of Florida. Tom Petty's Love Is a Long Road runs underneath it, the only confirmed needle-drop in the first trailer.

Trailer 2, the deep dive (May 2025)
The second official trailer went wider and longer, leaning into Jason and Lucia as a pair and showing far more of Leonida beyond the city: the Keys, the wetlands, small inland towns. It is the closest thing to a tour of the world that Rockstar has released. People online split it into "gameplay versus cutscene" shots, but Rockstar has not labelled any of it as captured gameplay, so we treat that split as community analysis, not Rockstar spec Leak / rumour, unverified.

Want it in 4K?
The official trailers stream in up to 4K on Rockstar's YouTube channel. There is a long-running discussion about higher-bitrate mirrors on other platforms, but we steer you to the official sources only, no reuploads, no sketchy "download" sites. Gameplay: what actually exists
Here is where source discipline matters most. As of now, Rockstar has not released a dedicated gameplay-only trailer. The official trailers contain in-engine footage, but a true "gameplay reveal" of the kind GTA 5 received has not happened.
That has not stopped a flood of fake walkthroughs. The only genuinely leaked GTA 6 material is the September 2022 development-build footage from a security breach, years-old clips that do not represent the finished game. An Extended Look, 27 August 2026
Rockstar has announced the next official Grand Theft Auto VI video, and for the first time it is not going up on YouTube first.
- Netflix, Thursday 27 August 2026, 3pm ET (8pm BST, 9pm CEST). The premiere is a Netflix exclusive and needs an active subscription. Confirmed
- Rockstar's YouTube channel and the official Grand Theft Auto VI site, six hours later, at 9pm ET. In European time that is 3am CEST on Friday 28 August, and it is free. Confirmed
It is called "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look". Rockstar has not called it Trailer 3, and Netflix's own description says only that it is an extended look at the game, so nobody outside Rockstar knows yet whether it holds gameplay, a cinematic trailer or both. Contents unconfirmed
If you are on European time and would rather not stay up for the Netflix window, the free upload lands overnight. This page gets updated once the video is actually out.
Trailer 3: not confirmed yet
There is no Rockstar-confirmed date for a third trailer. You will see specific windows and runtimes circulating, but until Rockstar posts it, every one of those is a Leak / rumour, unverified. We keep a live tracker on the Trailer 3 page and fold the real thing into the Vault the moment it lands.
